Fairphone's Repairable and Sustainable Smartphone Debuts in US Market

The Dutch electronics manufacturer Fairphone has launched its latest device, the Fairphone 6 Plus, in the US market. The smartphone, which runs on Android 16 and works with AT&T and T-Mobile's networks, is priced at $650. Available in cobalt blue, horizon black, and forest green, it offers a modest hardware upgrade from its predecessor released last year, featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip and 12GB of RAM. The phone's key selling point lies in its repairability and sustainability, with 12 parts replaceable using a screwdriver, a five-year warranty, and Android software support until 2033. Fairphone claims to be 100% e-waste neutral and uses 50% recycled or fair factory-made materials.
