Wispr Secures $280M at $2B Valuation, Expands Beyond Dictation

Key takeaways
- Wispr raised $280 million in Series B funding
- The company's valuation is now $2 billion
- Funds will be used for expansion into new areas like meetings
Tech startup Wispr, renowned for its AI dictation tool, has raised $280 million in Series B funding, led by Menlo Ventures. The company now values at $2 billion. The funds will enable Wispr to expand into new areas, such as meetings, with the launch of a note-taker tool. This latest round brings Wispr's total funding to $361 million, raised within less than 10 months. The increased competition in the dictation space from apps like Willow, Monolouge, Aqua, Superwhisper, and others did not deter existing investors, including Notable Capital, NEA, Neo Ventures, 8VC, MVP Ventures, Acrew, Forerunner, Goodwater, Peak XV, Together Fund, and PLUS Capital, from participating in the round. Amidst complaints about a dip in Wispr Flow’s dictation output, the company announced a new model called Canto to reduce error rates from 30% to less than 10%. Since November 2025, Wispr has expanded its presence in India and the U.K., partnered with hardware makers like Oasis ring, and launched a meeting notetaker to compete with Granola, Fireflies, and Read AI.
